A native of Bridgend in South Wales, I studied Art at Brighton and Aberystwyth before becoming head of Art at Ysgol Y Berwyn, Y Bala where I worked until 2014.

  

I took early retirement, so I now have time in the words of W H Davies, "to stand and stare". In truth we all need to do more standing and staring. 

 

I live in a beautiful rural location near Llanfachreth, Gwynedd, North Wales (a few miles from Dolgellau), where I have my studio and smallholding with assorted vegetables and livestock.

 So now I spend time doing all those things I promised myself whilst working at the chalk face - travelling, painting, shaping the land and of course

standing and staring.
